It Takes One Peach To Make A Difference

“Feisty, very sweet, and very sassy.” These are the words that Yakima resident Melia uses to describe her 8-year-old daughter Peach. Peach is MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital’s 2023 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® champion. Every year, hospitals across the nation select one local child to represent their community. As Peach could tell you, being a CMN champion is a big responsibility. Champions play a vital role by inspiring thousands of partners, employees, and community members to become involved in bettering children’s health in our region.

Peach was born with a heart condition and Down syndrome. Funded in part by Children’s Miracle Network donations, Peach was able to receive the specialized care that she needed close to home. Peach now has a healthy heart and is in the 3rd grade. Other services such as therapy in the heated pool at Children’s Village help her to enjoy a happy life in the valley.
